By using Patheo — whether through patheo.ai or the Patheo app — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

These terms apply to all users of Patheo, including free, Pro, and Power tier users. "Patheo" and "we" refer to Patheo LLC, the company that builds and operates Patheo.

🧭 What Patheo is

Patheo is an AI-powered career toolkit designed to help you put your best foot forward in your job search. It includes tools for:

• Tailoring resumes to specific job descriptions
• Generating cover letters and outreach emails
• Practicing interviews with an AI coach
• Tracking job applications and statuses
• Analyzing skills gaps and career positioning

Patheo is a tool, not a guarantee. It's here to sharpen your materials and build your confidence — but the outcome of your job search depends on many factors beyond any app.

🆓 Free tier

The Free tier gives you a genuine taste of what Patheo can do:

• 3 lifetime resume generations — not per month, but total, ever
• 3 interview coaching sessions
• Full access to the job tracker, notes, and application management

Upgrade to Pro or Power for unlimited generations and the full feature set.

⚖️ Acceptable use

Patheo is built for honest, good-faith career development. You agree not to use Patheo to:

• Generate fraudulent, misleading, or fabricated credentials or work history
• Impersonate another person in job applications
• Automate bulk applications in a way that abuses hiring systems
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the service
• Engage in any activity that violates applicable law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for accounts found to be abusing the service. We'd rather not — but we will if we have to.

📧 Waitlist & email communications

Patheo may offer a waitlist when founding member spots are full. By joining the waitlist, you consent to receiving email notifications from Patheo about spot availability and product updates related to your waitlist status.

• You may unsubscribe from the waitlist at any time by contacting us
• We will not send unrelated marketing emails or share your email with third parties
• Waitlist position does not guarantee access or pricing

📊 Data collection & privacy

By using Patheo, you acknowledge that we collect and securely store the following data in your account:

• Account data — email, name, authentication credentials
• Profile and career data — resume content, work history, skills, and job applications
• Support messages — any feedback, bug reports, or questions you submit through the app
• Usage data — aggregated, non-identifying metrics about feature usage to improve the product
• Payment data — processed securely by Stripe; Patheo never stores your full card details

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

🤖 AI features & subscriptions

AI features are available on paid plans (Founding Pro and Founding Power). All AI requests are routed through Patheo's servers — you do not need your own API keys. A few things to be clear about:

• AI-generated outputs are tools to assist you, not guaranteed results
• Patheo reserves the right to adjust monthly usage limits with reasonable notice
• Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Founding member rates are locked as long as your subscription remains active
• Patheo is not affiliated with Anthropic. Use of AI is governed by Anthropic's usage policies

💸 Refund policy

We want you to feel confident trying Patheo. That's why we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans.

• Eligibility: You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of your first payment on any paid plan
• How to request: Email support@patheo.ai or use the Contact form on patheo.ai with the subject "Refund request"
• Usage caveat: If a large proportion of your plan's included generations have been used (more than 50%) within the refund window, we reserve the right to decline the refund or offer a partial credit instead. This prevents abuse of the guarantee while still protecting genuine cases
• Processing time: Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and returned to your original payment method via Stripe
• Plan downgrade: Upon refund, your account will be downgraded to the Free tier immediately
• One refund per customer: The 14-day guarantee applies once per account. If you subscribe again after receiving a refund, the guarantee does not reset
• After 14 days: Refund requests made after 14 days are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion
• No partial refunds: We do not offer prorated refunds for unused portions of a billing cycle outside the 14-day window

🤖 AI-generated content disclaimer

Patheo uses large language models to generate resume content, interview feedback, and career suggestions. Here's what that means in practice:

• AI outputs are suggestions and starting points, not finished products
• You should always review, verify, and personalize AI-generated content before using it
• Patheo does not guarantee that AI-generated resumes or interview answers will result in interviews or job offers
• AI can make mistakes — it may generate inaccurate, outdated, or poorly-suited content for your specific situation

©️ Intellectual property

Your content is yours. Everything you enter into Patheo — your work history, resume, job applications, notes — belongs to you. You can export it, delete it, or do whatever you like with it.

AI-generated content created using your data through Patheo is also considered yours. We don't claim ownership over outputs generated in your session.

The Patheo app itself — its code, design, branding, and interface — is owned by Patheo LLC. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from Patheo without permission.

⚠️ No warranty & limitation of liability

Patheo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce any particular career outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Patheo LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Patheo — including loss of data, loss of job opportunities, or any decisions made based on AI-generated content.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Patheo shall not exceed the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (or $10, whichever is greater).

🔄 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the product evolves. When we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and may notify you through the app.

Continuing to use Patheo after updated terms are posted means you accept the new terms. If you disagree with a change, you can stop using the service and delete your local data via Settings → Reset Everything.

🏛️ Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Patheo will be resolved through good-faith negotiation where possible.

If you have a legal concern, please reach out to us directly before pursuing any formal action — we're a small team and we take issues seriously.

🚪 Ending the relationship

You can stop using Patheo at any time. To remove your account and all associated data, contact us at support@patheo.ai and we will permanently delete everything within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate access to Patheo for violations of these terms, extended inactivity on paid plans, or other reasons at our discretion. We'll try to give notice when possible.

Upon termination, any data stored in your account will be retained for up to 30 days before permanent deletion, unless you request immediate removal.
